Parent Consultation
Parenting can be one of the most loving and most exhausting things we do. Parent consultation is a space to step back, understand what your child is communicating through their behaviour, and find gentle, practical ways to respond.
These sessions draw on Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) principles, alongside warm, person-centred support. Rather than quick fixes, the aim is to strengthen the relationship at the heart of it all, the one between you and your child. You'll come away with skills you can use straight away, and a clearer sense of your child's inner world.
What it can help with
Parent consultation can gently support you with things like:
What change can look like
The biggest shifts often happen not in the room, but at home, in the ordinary moments between you and your child. Change tends to be quiet at first, then steadily more visible.

Fewer power struggles
Flashpoints around mornings, mealtimes, and bedtimes begin to ease, with less shouting on both sides.

You feel more confident
You respond from a calmer, steadier place, and second-guess yourself less in the difficult moments.

Your child feels understood
As big feelings are met with empathy, your child grows calmer, more co-operative, and more secure.

A warmer connection
The bond between you deepens, and there's more room for play, affection, and laughter.

Tools that last
The skills you learn stay with you, helping you meet whatever comes next with more ease.

A calmer home
As the relationship steadies, the whole household often feels a little lighter and more connected.
No family is perfect, and the goal isn't to be. It's to feel more connected, more confident, and more at ease in the relationship that matters most.
How the work unfolds
Understanding your child
We start with what's happening at home and what you're finding hard. Together we build a shared picture of your child's needs and the feelings sitting beneath their behaviour.
Tools you can use
Drawing on CPRT principles, you'll learn ways to set warm, firm boundaries, reflect your child's feelings, and play together so your child feels truly seen. Small shifts in how we respond can change a great deal.
Trying it at home
Between sessions you try things out with your child, and together we review what's working, adjust what isn't, and keep building on the small wins. You set the pace, and you're never doing it alone.
