Teenage Counselling

The teenage years can be turbulent, for them and for you. Counselling gives your teenager a space of their own, away from the pressures of family and school, to make sense of what they're going through.

I work in a person-centred way, meeting your teenager without judgement and at their own pace. Sessions are theirs: a confidential space to think out loud, untangle what's weighing on them, and feel genuinely heard.

What change can look like

Teenagers rarely announce that things are getting better. More often you notice it sideways: a lighter mood at dinner, a door left open a little wider.

More open

With somewhere to put what they've been carrying, many teens become a little more open at home too.

Steadier moods

The big emotional swings begin to settle, with fewer overwhelming days and quicker recoveries.

A stronger sense of self

They grow more sure of who they are, and more confident in their own worth.

Better at coping

They build real tools for handling stress, setbacks, and difficult feelings as they come.

Healthier relationships

Friendships and family life feel less fraught, and a little more secure.

Less alone

Whatever they're facing, they know they're not carrying it by themselves.

Teenagers change at their own pace, and rarely in a straight line. What stays the same is the direction: toward a young person who feels steadier, more confident, and more themselves.

How the work unfolds

For parents & teen

First session · 60 minutes

First, we meet

We begin by getting to know one another. Depending on your teenager's age and what feels right, this first session might include you as a parent for some background, before the space becomes your teenager's own.

Sessions · 50 minutes

A space of their own

From there, the sessions belong to your teenager. Within a confidential, judgement-free space, they can talk through whatever's on their mind, in their own words and at their own pace.

Working together

Keeping you in the loop

Teenagers need privacy to open up, so the detail of what's shared stays between us. Where it helps, and with your teenager's agreement, I'll check in with you on how things are going and how best to support them at home.
